Job Requirements

  • Education or experience in culinary arts or baking
  • Proven experience managing pastry production and teams
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to maintain food cost control and inventory management
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
  • Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled, and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
  • Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations
  • Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
  • Ensures that all security, safety, and sanitation standards are achieved
  • Provides operational planning to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered for anticipated business levels
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members according to Levy guidelines
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance, feedback, and corrective action to team members
  • Develops and implements menus, recipes, and standard operating procedures unique to the bakery and its requisitions
  • Works with partners, customers, and Executive Chef to find solutions and opportunities to grow the department
  • Performs other duties as assigned
