Job Description
We are proud to represent one of Charlotte's most respected upscale dining concepts, a cornerstone of the city's vibrant culinary scene. This establishment is part of a stable, people-first restaurant group renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and exceptional guest experiences. Over the years, this group has built a strong reputation for outstanding food, warm hospitality, and a positive work environment, positioning itself as a leader in the competitive Charlotte market. With exciting expansion plans set to unfold within the next year, this is an incredible opportunity to become part of a company that values its team and continuously strives for excellence.
The role of Executive Sous Chef here is a pivotal leadership position designed for a hands-on culinary professional who possesses deep roots in the Charlotte dining community. This position requires an experienced individual who thrives in a high-volume, scratch kitchen environment and is passionate about mentoring and developing a dynamic kitchen team. The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to uphold the culinary vision, drive operational success, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is not merely a managerial role but a leadership opportunity that requires a commitment to maintaining a culture of professionalism, urgency, and respect within the kitchen. It offers the chance to shape the culinary direction of a prominent restaurant while contributing to the growth of a respected multi-market restaurant group.
As the Executive Sous Chef, you will have the responsibility to lead a large back-of-house team, ensuring they perform at their best every day through effective training, coaching, and development. You will play a hands-on role during food preparation and service hours, bringing structure, organization, and accountability to daily kitchen operations. This includes overseeing critical aspects such as inventory management, ordering processes, scheduling, and cost controls to ensure operational efficiency. The ability to maintain impeccable food safety and sanitation standards is essential, along with fostering a positive kitchen culture that supports collaboration and high performance.
This position offers a competitive salary of up to $80,000 plus bonus potential, comprehensive health insurance benefits, and 2-3 weeks of paid time off or vacation. The restaurant group emphasizes work-life balance by providing monthly schedules with rotating weekends off, supporting a people-first culture that has resulted in extremely low turnover. Team members benefit from real career growth opportunities within a reputable and established hospitality company poised for expansion in the Charlotte market. If you are a culinary leader who is passionate about food, leadership, and delivering exceptional guest experiences, this Executive Sous Chef role is an excellent fit for your career ambitions.
