The University of Rochester is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Manager to join the Douglass Dining/Auxiliary Operations department. This full-time role, based at 735 Library Rd, Rochester, NY, offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $29.05 to $40.67, reflecting the individual's education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

As a Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting culinary leadership by overseeing all kitchen operations within the University dining program. Your responsibilities will include managing food preparation, maintaining rigorous kitchen standards, and delivering high-quality meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of students, faculty, and staff. You will lead, motivate, and supervise a team of kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, fostering a positive and efficient workplace culture where teamwork and communication thrive.

You should possess strong knowledge of food safety regulations, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required is also necessary.

Certifications such as ServSafe and AllerTrain must be obtained within twelve months of hire, underscoring the University’s dedication to maintaining high standards in food handling and allergen awareness.
