Job Requirements

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling procedures, preparation methods, merchandising, and supervision
  • Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team
  • Must have knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding food preparation
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English
  • Must exhibit competence in the management of the Dining production team
  • Must have ability to work independently and efficiently under stressful conditions
  • The ability to be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, keeping focus on results
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-orientation with the production of high quality work
  • Must have ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly and be able to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team members
  • Must be able to solve problems according to facility and departmental practices
  • Participation in Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Vaccination (including booster) is a requirement for all employees
  • Religious and medical exemptions are accepted

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team

  • Must exhibit competence in the management of the Dining production team

  • Positive attitude toward the elderly and ability to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team members

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all food preparation aspects of the dining service operation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Committed to the preparation of quality food
  • Assists in the maintenance of sound interdepartmental relations and the integrating of the dining service department with the facility plan of operations
  • Manages team members within the framework of team-ship, The Forest Way behaviors, and empowerment
