As an Executive Sous Chef at The Forest, you will play a vital role in upholding the community’s mission by ensuring the highest quality food preparation and dining experience for residents. In collaboration with the Executive Chef, you will oversee all aspects of food service operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position requires a deep commitment to excellence in culinary arts, as well as strong leadership skills to manage and empower the dining services team effectively. The Executive Sous Chef will be instrumental in maintaining the integration of the dining service department with the overall facility operations, fostering positive interdepartmental relationships, and promoting The Forest's culture of teamwork and empowerment known as The Forest Way.

Job Requirements
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling procedures, preparation methods, merchandising, and supervision
- Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team
- Must have knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding food preparation
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English
- Must exhibit competence in the management of the Dining production team
- Must have ability to work independently and efficiently under stressful conditions
- The ability to be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, keeping focus on results
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail-orientation with the production of high quality work
- Must have ability to work independently and efficiently
- Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly and be able to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team members
- Must be able to solve problems according to facility and departmental practices
- Participation in Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Vaccination (including booster) is a requirement for all employees
- Religious and medical exemptions are accepted
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions
- Certified Dietary Manager preferred
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team
- Must have knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding food preparation
- Must exhibit competence in the management of the Dining production team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail-orientation with the production of high quality work
- Positive attitude toward the elderly and ability to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team members
