Job Description
We are a dynamic and renowned culinary establishment committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences through innovative cuisine and impeccable service. Our kitchen is a vibrant environment where creativity, precision, and teamwork converge to craft memorable meals that delight our guests. Known for our dedication to quality and excellence, we pride ourselves on fostering a work culture that encourages growth, continuous learning, and culinary passion.
We are currently seeking an Executive Sous Chef who will play a critical role in the daily operations of our kitchen. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership position offering a competitive salary range between $90,000 and $110,000 per year. The Executive Sous Chef will lead from the line, providing steady guidance during high-volume periods and elevating the overall execution of our kitchen's culinary output. This role demands a proactive leader who is comfortable coaching a brigade, maintaining high standards, and ensuring a smooth, efficient culinary operation.
The successful candidate will act as a key support to the Executive Chef and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day kitchen activities. This involves not only ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes but also managing inventory, purchasing, and equipment upkeep. The Executive Sous Chef will also monitor food costs, assist with budgeting, and maintain a strong understanding of profit and loss statements to support the financial health of the kitchen.
In addition to operational duties, this role requires collaboration on menu development and the creation of seasonal offerings, helping to keep the menu fresh, innovative, and aligned with current culinary trends. Culinary creativity, broad food knowledge, and an ability to mentor and develop a diverse team are crucial components of this role. This position is not a clipboard job; it requires active engagement and leadership on the kitchen line to inspire and maintain a high-performing culinary team.
Our ideal Executive Sous Chef will possess solid experience in high-volume or upscale kitchen environments, exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills, and advanced knowledge of kitchen operations, equipment, purchasing, and inventory management. Familiarity with food safety and regulatory guidelines is essential, as is a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and well-run kitchen. While a culinary degree is preferred, it is not mandatory. Additional skills such as sushi preparation are considered advantageous.
This is an opportunity to join a passionate team where your leadership and culinary expertise will be highly valued, and your contributions will directly impact the success and reputation of our kitchen. We offer a supportive work environment with excellent benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. The position requires working on-site to fully engage with the kitchen team and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
