Job Requirements
- Graduation from accredited culinary school or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of culinary arts leadership experience
- Supervisory or management experience
- Previous hospitality industry experience preferred
- Experience in high volume culinary environments
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must be self-directed and motivated
- Availability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems
Job Qualifications

- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Experience in high volume culinary environments

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with food and labor cost monitoring
- Knowledge of ordering, inventory and sanitation procedures
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with exceptional customer service skills
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate in a second language is desirable
Job Duties
- Oversee all production and service of food in all kitchen areas at the Boston Harbor Hotel
- Train and lead kitchen employees in the proper preparation of menu items, equipment and safety
- Inspect, select and use the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, fowl and other food items for all menu preparations
- Observe expediting flow of all kitchens
- making adjustments to adhere to control procedures for cost and quality
- Maintain knowledge of local competition and general industry trends
- Train and develop all kitchen staff to ensure career growth
- Oversee weekly and monthly inventories
- Monitor proper receiving, storage and rotation of food products in compliance with local health regulations, including coverage, labeling, and dating
- Review menus and coordinate with Executive Chef to update menu items, recipes, specifications and production forecasts
- Schedule kitchen staff for proper service coverage while managing payroll costs
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and operational, coordinating repairs with Engineering team
- Create and maintain a teamwork-oriented back-of-house team
- Assist Executive Chef with special projects as assigned
- Assume all duties of Executive Chef in their absence
