Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years pastry chef experience
  • previous experience in a high-volume quality operation
  • knowledge of scratch baking and dessert production
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • strong organizational skills
  • able to maintain composure under pressure
  • commitment to sanitation and safety standards
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Job Qualifications

  • Passion for pastry and baking profession
  • knowledge of best practices in pastry production
  • ability to produce a diverse range of traditional and progressive desserts
  • experience in high-volume banquet production and a la carte dessert service
  • strong leadership and team-building skills
  • commitment to staff development through training and coaching
  • knowledge of vegan, gluten free, and allergy-aware baking
  • previous club experience preferred
  • self-motivated and organized
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • Develop and recommend daily and weekly dessert features
  • custom design desserts for private events and club banquets
  • supply recipes and suggest methods to pastry cooks
  • oversee employee skill development
  • fashion table and pastry decorations from sugar paste and icings
  • work closely and communicate daily with Executive Chef
  • attend committee meetings as directed
  • ensure continuity of communication with front of house management and staff
  • maintain the highest standards of sanitation and safety
  • respond to member feedback and inquiries
