Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent culinary education
  • minimum 5 years relevant experience in pastry chef roles
  • at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • strong knowledge of classical and modern pastry techniques
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • proficiency with relevant computer and point of sale systems
  • commitment to maintaining hygiene, health, and safety standards
  • strong leadership and team management capabilities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a luxury/lifestyle hotel or fine dining with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • proven expertise in classical and modern pastry techniques
  • strong leadership, team development, and organizational skills
  • excellent communication and time management abilities
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced, customer service driven environment
  • proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the companys values
  • intermediate to proficient understanding of computer systems such as Opera, GoConcierge, HotSOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred
  • ability to enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
  • ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
  • possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
  • must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift
  • must be able to be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
  • must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary

Job Duties

  • Manage production and presentation for all pastry items to ensure consistency, quality, and aesthetic excellence
  • lead, train, and mentor the pastry team to maintain high culinary standards
  • collaborate with Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to develop seasonal offers and special events menus
  • oversee daily operations of the pastry kitchen including scheduling, inventory, food costing, and ordering of supplies
  • ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations in accordance with Delano Miami Beach standards and local laws
  • control labor and food costs through effective planning and waste management
  • maintain strong relationships with suppliers and source premium ingredients
  • participate in culinary promotions, guest engagements, and media events when required
