Job Requirements
- must have post-secondary culinary arts degree or equivalent preferred
- minimum 3 years executive pastry chef experience preferred
- supervisory experience required
- ability to stand and exert mobility for up to eight hours
- able to lift up to 75 pounds
- must speak clearly and listen attentively
- must be dependable and hardworking
- must have ServSafe certification
- availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- experience as executive pastry chef in high-volume fine dining
- knowledge of pastry techniques including starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, chocolates, and flavorings
- experience with dough, cakes, ice cream, chocolate, and production
- supervisory experience
- ability to demonstrate leadership skills
- experience hiring, training, and mentoring staff
- dependability and strong work ethic
- ServSafe certification
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- manage all pastry production and dessert menu progression
- collaborate with culinary team to create fresh, seasonal artisanal desserts
- oversee banquet and à la carte dessert services
- ensure quality control and consistency in all pastry items
- hire, train, and mentor back-of-house pastry staff
- maintain inventory and order ingredients
- adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
