Job Requirements

  • Prefer 1-2 years previous hotel experience
  • Knowledge of sales procedures in the hotel industry
  • Ability to investigate and analyze data for recommendations
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy to develop marketing plans
  • Ability to drive to outside sales calls
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Physical ability to tour property and attend functions
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Must adhere to Sage Hospitality’s competency models
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule
  • Ready to travel as required for business purposes

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
  • Ability to negotiate and influence professionals and guests
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality marketing preferred
  • Ability to manage extensive information
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for sales calls

Job Duties

  • Book short term meetings and groups into the hotel
  • Supervise and execute set up, break down, and service of conference meeting rooms
  • Receive and respond to all customer inquiries
  • Negotiate and capture all profitable Rooms and Catering business
  • Provide marketing collateral to clients and guests
  • Prepare and send proposals and contracts
  • Coordinate room lists including types and billing
  • Educate event planners on hotel procedures
  • Coordinate event order details including set-up, food and beverage, and audio/visual equipment
  • Distribute final rooming lists and banquet event orders
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Entertain qualified potential clients
  • Document and report sales activities
  • Maintain and build relationships with top accounts
  • Sell and service onsite weddings
  • Attend networking events
  • Collaborate with banquet and culinary teams
  • Use sales resources and administrative staff effectively
  • Communicate event details to team members
  • Monitor client satisfaction and lead by example
  • Capture short turnaround business
  • Prepare contracts and event orders
  • Exercise excellent communication and organizational skills
