Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of hospitality experience
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Strong communication skills with guests and team members
  • Ability to assist coworkers and work cooperatively in a team
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking
  • Willingness to participate in sales-related activities such as cold calling and attending events

Job Duties

  • Respond in a timely manner to incoming group/catering business opportunities
  • Ensure that all business is booked within hotel parameters
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required
  • Manage and maintain client account files
  • Prospect for new business through sales blitzes, cold calling, and contacting former clients
  • Attend industry events and programs as needed
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Detail events including food and beverage, setup, and audio-visual needs
  • Ask appropriate questions to ensure event details meet group and hotel needs
  • Create group resumes and communicate client needs to all hotel departments
  • Ensure hotel staff follows through on all client requests
  • Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business and negotiate contracts
