Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years previous hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
- Ability to negotiate and sell effectively
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive for outside sales calls
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and information effectively
- Physical ability to tour property and attend events
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
- Ability to investigate and analyze data for logical conclusions and recommendations
- Strong communication skills including negotiation and sales influence
- Ability to drive for outside sales calls
- Excellent comprehension and literacy for marketing plan development
- At least 1-2 years of previous hotel experience preferred
- Marketing experience in travel and tourism industry desirable
- Ability to manage extensive information
- Knowledge of hotel sales procedures
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Receive and respond to all customer inquiries
- Negotiate and capture all profitable rooms and catering business
- Provide marketing collateral to clients and guests such as menus and meeting room layouts
- Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to potential clients
- Coordinate all details pertaining to room lists including room types and billing
- Educate event planners on hotel procedures including meal guarantees and payment terms
- Coordinate details for each Event Order including setup specifications and audio/visual equipment
- Distribute final Rooming Lists and Banquet Event Orders to service staff
- Conduct site inspections and entertain potential clients
- Document and report all sales activities accurately and timely
- Maintain an active list of top accounts and perform relationship-building activities
- Host functions and participate in sales blitzes, travel, and extended hours as needed
