The Executive Housekeeper role at Tenaya Lodge is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the housekeeping team to ensure the entire resort environment is spotless, sanitized, and guest-ready. This full-time role offers an anticipated base salary ranging from $70,304 to $88,400 annually, with additional compensation through an annual bonus plan based on individual, company, and location performance. Relocation assistance and temporary housing support are available to qualified candidates. The Executive Housekeeper will lead, manage, and inspire the housekeeping team, prioritizing exceptional guest service and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating team members, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring that cleaning standards and safety protocols are consistently met. The role demands a strategic leader proficient in budgeting, payroll management, and quality control processes, including conducting thorough housekeeping inspections and implementing corrective actions when necessary. A valid driver's license is required, as the role involves driving company vehicles throughout the property.
Ideal candidates will bring at least five years of leadership experience in housekeeping management, demonstrate knowledge of cleaning tools, equipment, and materials safety standards, and be physically capable of meeting the demands of the position, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- No degree required
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual acuity sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces
- At least five years of experience managing a team
Job Qualifications
- At least five years of experience managing a team
- Working knowledge of cleaning utensils, dryers, washers, tools, fixtures, and cleaning solvents
- Knowledge of how to use Material Safety Data Sheets for cleaning solvents
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Job Duties
- Lead and manage a team of housekeepers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management and evaluation
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, order and distribute supplies and equipment
- Ensure that all reports, orders, and projects are completed
- Monitor and control expenses and payroll while ensuring proper resources are in place
- Conduct housekeeping inspections and take corrective action as needed
- Drive company vehicles throughout the property
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and use of cleaning materials
