As a family-owned company, Delaware North is deeply committed to fostering personal and professional growth among its team members by providing unique career pathways and a supportive work environment. The company stands out for offering memorable guest experiences in iconic locations, making it a premier employer in the hospitality industry. Their operations emphasize a people-first approach, championing inclusivity and equal opportunity across all roles and locations. One of their distinguished properties is the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, a 4-diamond resort nestled just outside the south entrance to Yosemite National Park in Fish Camp, California. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, including majestic trees and granite peaks, Tenaya Lodge offers a blend of traditional lodge accommodations and modern cabins under the Waybound brand, designed to provide guests with both luxury and a connection to the great outdoors. The resort delivers a wide array of outdoor and recreational experiences, catering to guests who seek both adventure and relaxation in one of California's most iconic destinations.
Delaware North is currently seeking an Executive Housekeeper to join the team at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite. This is a full-time leadership role that involves managing and directing an entire housekeeping team to ensure that all resort areas are impeccably clean, sanitized, and guest-ready at all times. The Executive Housekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the resort's prestigious reputation by overseeing the quality and efficiency of cleaning operations across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. With a competitive salary range of $70,304 to $88,400 per year, supplemented by an annual bonus plan based on individual, company, and location performance, this role offers substantial financial incentives alongside significant career advancement opportunities.
The position demands strong leadership skills, as the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating the performance of housekeeping staff. Inventory management is another key duty, requiring meticulous oversight of cleaning supplies and equipment, as well as ordering and distribution processes to ensure seamless operations. The role includes the responsibility of conducting detailed housekeeping inspections and implementing corrective actions to uphold quality standards. Financial stewardship is integral, involving monitoring of expenses and payroll while ensuring resources are optimized. Additionally, the successful candidate will sometimes operate company vehicles to facilitate effective management across the property. Relocation assistance and temporary housing support are available, highlighting Delaware North's commitment to recruiting top talent.
The job requires a candidate who is at least 21 years old, has a minimum of five years' experience managing a team, and is familiar with various cleaning tools, machines, and solvents, including an understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets. While no formal degree is necessary, a valid driver’s license is essential. The physical demands of the job include frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are important to perform thorough cleanliness inspections and operate cleaning equipment effectively. The role involves typical shift patterns including days, holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
At Delaware North and Tenaya Lodge, employees are more than just staff; they are part of a global family dedicated to shaping the future of hospitality. This role is a unique chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment surrounded by nature’s beauty while building a rewarding career in hospitality management. The inclusive culture and comprehensive benefits underscore the company’s dedication to employee well-being and professional development.
