Job Requirements

  • Ability to work from standing position for extended periods
  • ability to perform reaching, stooping, and crouching motions repeatedly
  • dexterity to use culinary tools effectively
  • visual acuity for quality food preparation and safety
  • sense of smell and taste to ensure food quality
  • closed-toe, non-canvas, non-skid shoes required

Job Qualifications

  • Proven record of culinary accomplishments through personal recognitions
  • basic reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills
  • minimum 5 years of high-volume cooking experience with extensive knowledge in fine dining
  • at least 3 years experience as an Executive Chef in a hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills for culinary training
  • leadership and motivational skills
  • consistency and fairness in management
  • organized and deadline-oriented
  • good judgment in people and situations
  • ability to handle multiple details and heavy event volume
  • neat, well-groomed and highly professional
  • exceptional guest and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Review and approve recipe files and collaborate with culinary staff to improve cuisine
  • use high-quality ingredients creatively while managing costs
  • review and approve food orders and ensure quality control of finished products
  • oversee kitchen cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance
  • troubleshoot kitchen issues and manage waste disposal
  • create and price menus, specialties, and catering items while adhering to food and cost control standards
  • develop seasonal specials and conduct product taste panels
  • participate in culinary events and competitions
  • monitor and control food costs and payroll
  • interview, hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff
  • develop and motivate culinary team members
  • delegate responsibilities to develop leadership within the team
  • collaborate with management team and complete assigned projects
  • maintain grooming and uniform standards
