Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma
- Previous experience in dietary department of healthcare facility preferred
- Ability to read, write, and use math and measurements
- Knowledge of menus, recipes, food purchasing, preparation, and storage
- Ability to supervise and manage staff
- Knowledge of community policies and job descriptions
- Understanding of ADA standards and regulations
- Compliance with state and federal health regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to maintain sanitary and safe food service environment
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday with some weekends
- Eligibility to work full-time

Job Qualifications
- Demonstration of core values including love, kindness, honesty, goodness, fairness, respect
- License or certification as dietician, ADA, diet technician, chef, or dietary manager meeting state requirements
- Graduation from an accredited food service supervision course or equivalent with 90+ hours classroom instruction and counseling
- Continuing education as required by state law
- Minimum high school diploma
- Previous experience in a healthcare dietary department preferred
- Knowledge of menus, recipes, food purchasing, preparation, storage, supervision, management, community policies, procedures, and job descriptions
- Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations, and use units of measurement
- Knowledge of ADA standards, state regulations, infection control, health department, and OSHA requirements
Job Duties
- Assist in development of dietetic policies and procedures
- Supervise the receiving and storage of food
- Supervise food preparation and service
- Schedule food service team members
- Assist the dietician in planning and conducting ongoing in-service training programs and provide follow up recommendations
- Visit residents to gather information on food preferences
- Maintain meal census, diets served, menus, purchase records, nutrition assessments, care plans, and staffing patterns
- Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise food service employees within budget
- Plan menus ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and regulations
- Review resident diet information and coordinate changes with staff and family
- Supervise cleaning procedures to maintain sanitary conditions
- Ensure serving practices maintain proper food temperatures
- Monitor food production and preparation
- Instruct new residents about meal services
- Consult with Wellness Director, Executive Director and Dietician on special diets and dietary issues
- Participate in Quality Assurance Committee activities including infection control and safety
- Review health certificates and conduct monthly temperature and twice weekly food waste studies
- Keep detailed records of menus, substitutions, special diet rosters, meals served, and food costs
