Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Associate degree with equivalent experience accepted
  • Minimum five years' work experience as Executive Chef
  • Experience within hospitality industry
  • Current ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
  • Work all stations in the kitchen and/or dining room if necessary
  • Plan, prepare, and execute special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Produce innovative menus and recipes using high-quality ingredients within budget
  • Manage monthly and annual food and beverage budgets including documentation
  • Review and adjust menus for seasonal ingredients, supply chain shortages, and cost changes
  • Maintain purchasing standards and approve vendors
  • Build strong relationships with vendors
  • Report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • Interview, hire, and train culinary and food and beverage staff
  • Manage and supervise culinary and food and beverage staff including scheduling, assigning work, performance reviews, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey standards
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and proper equipment use
  • Meet dietary needs and restrictions
  • Enforce food safety, hygiene, and storage policies
  • Control food production to minimize waste
  • Maintain accurate daily records
  • Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff for food preparation and service quality
  • Ensure plating and presentation meet standards
  • Facilitate teamwork between front and back of house staff
  • Work with marketing and activities to coordinate special events
  • Meet with residents and families to ensure satisfaction
  • Advise management of resident concerns
