Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 3 years experience in kitchen management
- ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds frequently
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- knowledge of business and basic accounting principles
- willingness to learn administrative software
- pass stage (unpaid) as part of hiring process if required
Job Qualifications
- High school education plus culinary arts schooling or related major
- over 3 years of kitchen management experience
- strong leadership and organizational skills
- ability to multitask and work under pressure
- knowledge of food preparation and kitchen services
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and POS systems
- commitment to hospitality and customer satisfaction
- professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality
Job Duties
- Delegate and manage tasks to kitchen staff, communicating and providing clear direction to staff
- train kitchen associates to maximize productivity and minimize waste
- inspect daily use records to ensure estimates are filled in correctly and employees follow them closely
- pull all food needed for daily production from walk-in and utilize leftovers
- operate as main expeditor when necessary, ensuring accuracy according to ticket modifications and dietary restrictions
- perform back of house performance reviews timely
- provide consistent and positive constructive feedback
- maintain daily communication using logbook system to inform management
- schedule back of house staff and manage labor targets
- conduct and supervise twice daily tastings with front and back of house management to ensure food quality and consistency
- order food and smallware based on inventory and budget goals
- monitor ticket times and resolve related issues
- maintain and supervise excellent cleaning and sanitation practices
- comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability
- improvise effectively under pressure
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
