Job Description

The opportunity to join a prominent, health-focused private family as an Executive Chef presents a unique and rewarding career path. This private household employs a multi-property lifestyle predominantly centered around New York City but extends to seasonal residences, requiring a high level of sophistication, discretion, and culinary excellence. The family is deeply committed to well-being and sustainability, which is reflected in their culinary preferences and the operational ethos across their homes. The role demands a dynamic professional who is not only skilled in preparing refined, nutrient-dense cuisine but also passionate about health and wellness. Culinary operations involve utilizing the best-in-class ingredients, including those cultivated within the household's own organic vegetable garden and honey from beehives maintained on-site, emphasizing a farm-to-table approach that champions freshness, quality, and ecological responsibility.

This Executive Chef position is full-time and requires travel, including support for private aircraft catering, highlighting the need for flexibility and the ability to manage culinary excellence on the move. The successful candidate will take the helm of all culinary activities, ensuring personalized, seasonal menus that meet the unique dietary requirements and preferences of all family members. The role combines creativity with operational leadership, requiring proficiency in kitchen organization, hygiene, food safety, allergen control, and budget management across multiple residences. Beyond the kitchen, the Executive Chef will collaborate closely with the Estate Manager and household staff, contributing to a seamless and discreet service experience that meets the high standards expected in ultra-luxury private environments.

The position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $200,000 to $225,000, commensurate with experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, paid holidays, and more. The schedule is designed to allow balance, with work typically rotating with another chef and comprising about 3.5 days per week, though it involves long days requiring stamina and dedication. The role not only challenges the Executive Chef to elevate culinary standards but also to provide leadership and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, fostering a team environment that prioritizes excellence, professionalism, and growth. This leadership aspect extends to the oversight of the family’s garden and beekeeping initiatives, ensuring the produce and honey are maximized and gifted appropriately.

This is an exceptional role for a seasoned Chef with over a decade of professional experience in luxury hospitality environments such as private households, yachts, or private aviation settings. Competency in clean eating, functional nutrition, and managing specialty diets is highly valued and can be supplemented by formal nutrition training. High discretion, integrity, and calmness under pressure are essential attributes for succeeding in this environment. Travel flexibility, including holidays and weekends, a valid passport, a driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check are mandatory. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a high-touch, immersive environment where culinary innovation, wellness, sustainability, and impeccable service converge to create an exceptional lifestyle experience.
