Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years kitchen management experience
  • Current Food Handler's card
  • Valid alcohol service permit if required by local laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and event-driven schedules
  • Ability to obtain and maintain sanitation certification
  • Ability to train and supervise culinary staff
  • Commitment to health, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • Willingness to maintain professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years kitchen management experience in full-service restaurant or events venue
  • Proven track record of meeting projected cost targets
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Maintains current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
  • Knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
  • Ability to obtain sanitation certification
  • Skilled in food preparation methods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train, evaluate, and motivate staff
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • Self-directed with teamwork focus
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop, and mentor culinary staff including hiring and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure event staff understand workplace expectations and provide ongoing training and support
  • Achieve budgeted food cost percentages through controls and inventory management
  • Control labor costs by scheduling, cross-training, and monitoring break documentation
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and style of food products through menu development and recipe adherence
  • Supervise line setup, prep, and breakdown activities
  • Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and cater services
  • Arrange staff skills training and promote teamwork
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations
  • Maintain kitchen administrative records and manage work schedules
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of staff meals
