Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to an associate degree or relevant culinary experience
- minimum three to five years of kitchen management or culinary experience
- strong leadership and communication skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to manage high volume and complex operations
- computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and email
- ServSafe certification preferred
- ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- extensive catering experience is a plus
- experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations
- hands-on chef experience
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends
- proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet applications
- ServSafe certified is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
- follow standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards
- complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- taste completed meals to ensure quality
- train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment
- maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines
- establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas
- comply with health and sanitation regulations and company policies
- make decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products within company guidelines
- participate in departmental meetings and staff development programs
