Hilton Chicago is currently seeking a dynamic Executive Chef to lead and manage all culinary operations within the hotel. The Executive Chef position is a pivotal leadership role responsible for directing the planning, preparation, production, and control of all food-related services in the hotel. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the hotel’s reputation for outstanding guest service while ensuring financial profitability through strong operational and cost management. The ideal candidate will be a visionary culinary professional with the ability to innovate, lead, and inspire a talented culinary team.

In the role of Executive Chef, you will oversee the entire culinary department, ensuring that every meal prepared in the hotel meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety. You will be charged with creating and implementing menus that reflect current food trends and regional tastes, working closely with the Director of Food and Beverage. Your leadership extends to compliance with all local, state, federal, and company health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations to guarantee a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests.

A significant element of this role includes team management, where you will be responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and developing culinary staff to achieve peak productivity and performance. You will engage in budgeting, forecasting, and departmental reporting tasks, providing insights and strategies that optimize operational efficiencies and profitability. Additionally, this role requires active engagement with guests to gather feedback, monitor satisfaction, and implement continuous improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior culinary leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of current food trends and regional cuisines
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Direct and oversee all culinary operations including meal production, food quality, and presentation

  • Create and implement new menus and individual menu items reflecting current food trends
  • Manage team member productivity, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Interact with guests and clients to assess satisfaction and implement improvements
