The Executive Chef role at Danbury is a vital leadership position responsible for the overall success and quality of the Dining Services operation. This position focuses on planning, organizing, developing, inspiring, and directing the dining experience to guarantee that delicious, high-quality nutritional meals are provided daily. The Executive Chef oversees all aspects of food service, ensuring that preparations meet safety, cleanliness, and sanitary standards. They also establish food presentation standards and decorative displays to create an appealing dining atmosphere. This role requires close collaboration with physicians, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to design menus that meet regular and special dietary requirements tailored to residents' health needs.

Administrative responsibilities include completing reports, evaluations, and studies, as well as coordinating dining services seamlessly with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. The Executive Chef is expected to foster a positive working rapport among staff and management to meet residents' expectations consistently. Delegation of authority and accountability within the department is a key part of this role, along with establishing production lines that ensure meals are prepared and served timely. The position demands extensive experience in fine dining environments, preferably with a background in healthcare or senior living sectors. Job Requirements

  • ServSafe certified
  • Culinary degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience in dietary or dining services
  • Experience in restaurant, hospital, healthcare, or senior living dining settings
  • Knowledge of cost control, food management, and diet therapy
  • Ability to develop and manage menus and food presentations
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree from an accredited institution
  • Five years of dietary or dining service supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience in fine dining within various venues
  • Training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy for healthcare residents
