Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience as a sous chef or similar role
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to handle kitchen demands including lifting heavy items and standing for long periods
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Food Handlers certification
  • Successful completion of Missouri Gaming License process
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Willingness to handle challenging customer scenarios professionally
  • Adherence to uniform and appearance policies
  • Basic math and computer literacy

Job Qualifications

  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts school preferred or required
  • Minimum of 5 years as a sous chef plus 3 years in other food preparation roles preferred or required
  • Proven performance in implementing food production operational standards
  • Ability to uphold high integrity and recognize regulatory standards
  • Proven financial acumen to manage expenses
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must obtain Food Handlers certificate from County Health Department
  • Must pass Missouri Gaming License application process
  • Present a neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills for recipe calculations and safety

Job Duties

  • Supervise activities of all kitchen staff including scheduling and inventory management
  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain orderly kitchen operations
  • Interview, select, train, and evaluate kitchen staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend wage increases and promotions
  • Handle employee complaints and disciplinary actions
  • Produce food meeting nutritional, safety, flavor, and presentation standards
  • Plan menus, control food costs, and maintain payroll records
  • Train staff in cooking methods, safety, sanitation, and equipment use
  • Lead and promote a positive and ethical work environment
  • Enforce uniform and appearance standards
  • Demonstrate customer service behaviors such as friendly greeting and satisfaction checks
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and company policies
