The Springs at Greer Gardens, a part of The Springs Living family, is currently seeking a skilled Executive Chef who embodies a unique blend of culinary excellence and leadership acumen. This role is a pivotal position within their senior living community, focusing on delivering an exceptional dining experience to residents and their families. The Executive Chef collaborates closely with the Food and Beverage Director to elevate the food service standards by crafting high-quality menus, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring that all meals meet the community’s exacting standards of taste, presentation, and safety. The Executive Chef at The Springs at Greer Gardens is responsible for launching company-standard menus efficiently, catering special events with precision, and maintaining consistency in meal presentation and timeliness. The chef plays a key leadership role by motivating the kitchen staff, providing proper training, and fostering a respectful, supportive work environment where every employee feels valued. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience as a chef or in a related culinary leadership role
  • strong culinary skills with a focus on quality and presentation
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • proficiency with relevant computer applications
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • experience in hospitality or health service food service industry
  • competency and knowledge of international and domestic cuisines
  • experience with computer programs including microsoft excel, microsoft word, outlook
  • knowledge of menu writing, costing and wage control
  • practical and theoretical background in all kitchens

Job Duties

  • set a superior standard for the provision of a high-quality dining experience
  • launch company-standard menus in an efficient and timely manner
  • cater special events as needed
  • ensure meal and event presentations are consistent, prompt and appetizing
  • plan and purchase all food items necessary to prepare meals according to the current menu
  • effectively, dynamically and professionally lead a kitchen staff by inspiring their confidence and motivating them to perform their duties according to the highest standards
  • support the dining team in a professional manner, providing an environment where employees consistently feel valued and respected
  • make sure all back of house personnel are properly trained
  • assure consistent coverage of shifts as needed
  • adhere to food sanitation and storage policies and procedures
  • assure adherence to food, supply and labor budgets
  • uphold and model company values
