The role requires meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, quality control, cost management, and compliance with health and safety protocols such as USPH and HACCP standards. You will facilitate inventory control, equipment maintenance, and training on dietary requirements and allergies to safeguard guest and staff well-being. Engagement with guests is also part of your duties, enhancing the dining experience through direct interaction and feedback.
Candidates must demonstrate substantial leadership experience in a fine dining environment, preferably with Michelin star recognition, along with comprehensive knowledge of Western and European culinary techniques, menu design, and financial acumen related to kitchen operations. The position demands excellent communication skills and a passion for elevating culinary artistry.
Given the shipboard nature of the position, applicants must be ready and enthusiastic about living and working at sea, complying with strict safety and living protocols, including shared accommodations, multicultural engagement, and adherence to Disney’s safety management system. Job Requirements
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a fine dining environment, preferably with a Michelin star recognition
- Comprehensive knowledge of fine dining food and beverage products, services, and equipment
- Strong foundation in Western/European fine dining culinary techniques
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost assessment, and financial planning
- Ability to design, write, and implement high-quality menus considering seasonal availability
- Skill in recipe development and the training of the team to execute at the highest standards
- Be genuinely enthusiastic about a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Agree to follow safety protocols and emergency responsibilities as outlined in ship guidelines
- Comply with general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System
- Be open to shared cabin accommodations and embrace a multicultural living environment with strict regulations
- Possess a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa
- Complete a pre-employment medical examination
- Undergo a criminal background check
- Bring approved professional kitchen shoes
- Pass drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout contract

Job Qualifications
