The Racquet Club, established in 1959, is a prestigious private, member-equity club located in Midland, Texas. Nestled in the heart of the nation's oil and gas industry, the Club has built a rich legacy offering an exceptional blend of recreational and social amenities to its 320 resident members. Among its prized features are 11 plexi-cushioned tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, a stadium court, a swimming pool, and a playground, accompanied by a dedicated and professional staff committed to providing a memorable experience for members and their guests. The Club is known for its formal and casual dining options, including an outstanding patio dining area, and hosts various indoor and outdoor events that cater to a sophisticated and diverse membership. Recent significant capital investments have been made to upgrade the tennis, pickleball, clubhouse, outdoor dining, landscaping, kitchen, and parking facilities, with forthcoming renovations planned for the main dining room and other dining venues to enhance the overall member experience further.

The Executive Chef at The Racquet Club plays a pivotal role in leading all culinary operations with strategic oversight and hands-on management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality culinary offerings that align with the Club's mission to exceed member expectations. This leadership position requires a strong culinary professional who has demonstrated success within private clubs, resorts, or hospitality environments, possessing exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills paired with high emotional intelligence and a member-focused approach. The Executive Chef will be responsible for maintaining and elevating the culinary standards by implementing systems, standards, and accountability measures while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the culinary team. This role is integral not only in operational and financial stewardship but also in creating an engaging and warm environment for members by being approachable and highly visible during service. The Executive Chef will oversee the preparation and presentation of menus for various dining venues including the Garden Room, TV Room, Main Dining Room, and the popular Patio area, contributing creativity that balances both classic favorites and innovative global cuisine. An ability to mentor and teach the culinary staff is essential, as is coordinating with front-of-house management to deliver a seamless food and beverage experience. The Chef must demonstrate a calm demeanor under pressure, maintain a positive and fun work culture, and proactively engage with both members and team members to ensure ongoing member satisfaction and operational excellence. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years luxury culinary experience as Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
  • Successful experience in both a la carte and banquet operations
  • Culinary arts degree from an accredited school is preferred
  • Certified Executive Chef (ACF) or Pro Chef (CIA) certification is preferred
  • Certification in food safety is mandatory
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Successful track record in cost control, recipe standardization, and budget planning

  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Jonas POS software is a plus
