Vi at Palo Alto is currently seeking to fill the position of Executive Chef Assistant, a pivotal role within the kitchen team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a skilled culinary professional eager to advance their career by working closely with the Executive Chef in a high-caliber kitchen environment. The Executive Chef Assistant will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of culinary management, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional food experiences to guests. This position demands a comprehensive knowledge of advanced cooking techniques, kitchen supervision, food safety, and quality control.

In this role, the Executive Chef Assistant will supervise line cooks and kitchen attendants, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and sanitation. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in high-end restaurants, clubs, hotels, or senior living establishments, preferably with a background in supervising kitchen staff. Proficiency in garde manger, baking, sauce preparation, and both hot and cold food production is highly desirable. Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems adds valuable expertise to this multifaceted position.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • minimum 5 years of culinary experience in relevant establishments
  • proven kitchen supervisory experience
  • current state health and sanitation certification

  • familiarity with Point of Sale systems
  • current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • valid driver’s license if applicable
