Job Requirements
- Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of chef experience in full-service restaurant
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Valid SERV Safe certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multitasking skills
- Knowledge of ingredients, shelf life and food interactions
- Expertise in food preparation and quality control
- Skilled in pastry baking techniques
- Proficient in scheduling and inventory management
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to receive and use guest feedback
- Background check and drug screening required
- Ability to read and interpret business and technical information
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks
- Willingness to work varying shifts including holidays
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or comparable experience
- 5+ years experience as a chef in a full-service restaurant
- 2+ years experience in a supervisory role
- SERV Safe certification
- Strong business acumen and leadership experience
- Ability to lead through influence in a collaborative environment
- Demonstrated experience partnering with clients on operational issues
- Effective communication skills at multiple organizational levels
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
- Extensive knowledge of ingredients, food preparation and quality control
- Mastery of pastry baking techniques
- Proficiency in inventory control management and scheduling
- Verbal and written communication proficiency with attention to detail
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle feedback from guests positively
Job Duties
- Act as a leadership role model while exhibiting company vision, mission and values
- Participate in recruitment efforts including interviewing and pre-employment screening
- Oversee commissary operations, recipe development, kitchen organization, and pastry production
- Train new staff, communicate job expectations, schedule shifts, coach, counsel, and discipline employees
- Monitor employee performance and enforce policies and procedures
- Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of operational standards including production, quality, and customer service
- Forecast food costs and profits, adjust menus, control costs through portion control and waste minimization
- Develop and maintain product specification and recipe books to ensure consistency
- Obtain and maintain SERV Safe certification ensuring compliance with FDA food code
- Maintain safe, secure and healthy kitchen environment by enforcing sanitation standards
- Support employee development, teamwork, and compliance with company procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ensure all duties comply with internal procedures and external regulations
