The current opportunity is for an Executive Chef 3 position within a School District in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. This role is pivotal in managing and elevating culinary operations across multiple school sites. The Executive Chef 3 will be entrusted with culinary training programs, ensuring strict adherence to food quality and regulatory standards across the district. Responsible for menu compliance, purchasing, inventory, and food cost analysis, this role demands strong leadership and expertise in food production systems. The chef will also oversee the PrimeroEdge food management system for multiple units and lead catering functions, ensuring events meet the highest standards. Developing promotional culinary initiatives to increase student meal purchases is another essential aspect of this position.
The ideal candidate for Executive Chef 3 will have a strong culinary background and remain current on emerging culinary trends. Experience within K-12 educational food services is preferred to understand the unique demands of school meal programs. This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills to mentor and develop hourly-paid kitchen staff effectively. Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 3 years management experience
- minimum 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Job Qualifications
- strong culinary background with demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
- excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to maintain the highest culinary standards
- strong coaching and employee development skills
- passion for food and innovation
- previous experience in K-12 environment is preferred
Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production
- oversee the PrimeroEdge food management system for multiple units
- menu development
- ensure Sodexo and USDA culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented and maintained
- oversee catering functions within the district
- have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid staff)
- provide stellar customer/client service
- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
