Job Description

Sodexo is currently seeking an Executive Chef 3 for the Waco Independent School District (Waco ISD) located in Waco, TX. Waco ISD is a premier school district consisting of 24 schools and approximately 15,000 students, making it a long-term valued client of Sodexo. The Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in leading the culinary operations across the district, focusing on culinary training, food quality, menu development, and operational excellence. This leadership position involves overseeing multiple units through the PrimeroEdge food management system, managing purchasing and inventory, analyzing food costs, and ensuring compliance with Sodexo's and USDA's culinary standards.
The ideal candidate will drive innovation by creating culinary promotions aimed at increasing student meal participation while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety. This role also requires handling catering functions within Waco ISD and surrounding K-12 accounts. Besides technical culinary expertise, the Executive Chef must possess strong leadership capabilities to motivate, coach, mentor, and develop frontline hourly staff, fostering an engaging and productive team culture. Exceptional customer and client service skills are essential to build and maintain positive relationships within the district and with Sodexo’s partners.

Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 3 years management experience
- minimum 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- strong coaching and employee development skills
- passion for food and innovation
- previous experience in a K-12 environment preferred

Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production
- oversee the PrimeroEdge food management system for multiple units
- menu development
- ensure Sodexo and USDA culinary standards including recipe compliance are food quality are implemented and maintained
- oversee catering functions within Waco ISD and Sodexo's neighboring K-12 accounts
- have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid staff)
- provide stellar customer/client service
- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
