The Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in inspiring students and staff through quality food offerings and sustainable culinary practices. This role is designed for a strategic leader with strong hands-on kitchen experience and the ability to deliver results through others. Serving as the culinary visionary and operational manager, the Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all back-of-the-house operations, including ordering, inventory management, staff training, and development. This individual will also champion sustainability initiatives and local purchasing programs, reinforcing the importance of environmentally responsible food services.
The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and have comprehensive culinary oversight for residential dining, retail outlets, and catering services on campus. They will be actively engaged during service hours by maintaining a visible presence on the floor, demonstrating leadership, accessibility, and a hands-on approach to guiding their team. This role requires a balanced skill set that includes business acumen, food safety and sanitation expertise, quality control, menu development, and food cost management.

Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and food production forecasting
- ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
- ensure food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems
- manage back-of-the-house operations including ordering, inventory, staff training, and development
