Sodexo is currently seeking an Executive Chef 2 for Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, a vibrant campus community and a long-standing Sodexo showcase account for over 65 years. Gonzaga University is recognized for its innovative approach in sustainability, quality, and value while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and influence culinary services within a leading academic environment.

As the Executive Chef 2 at Gonzaga University, you will play a pivotal role in managing the culinary operations, ensuring adherence to Sodexo's culinary standards, and delivering exceptional food experiences to students, faculty, and visitors. Your responsibilities will encompass managing purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and production forecasting. You will be instrumental in upholding food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, while leading a dynamic culinary team.

This role requires a strategic thinker and a motivated leader who can develop team members, embrace culinary innovations, and maintain strong collaborative relationships with senior client leadership and the campus community. You will oversee catering operations, special events, concessions, and athletics-related food services, providing a wide range of culinary offerings.   • associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 2 years management experience
  • minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts

Job Duties

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • ensure Sodexo culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
