This particular role is for an Executive Chef 2 position based in Southborough, Massachusetts, specifically to manage culinary operations at an independent school. The role involves overseeing the daily kitchen functions, ensuring strict adherence to food safety protocols, and driving innovation through student-focused menus that promote health and enjoyment. The Executive Chef will be instrumental in partnering with district leaders, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance the school’s dining experience.

The Executive Chef is expected to lead and develop a diverse culinary team, instilling a culture of culinary innovation and quality. Emphasizing scratch cooking, this position ensures that students receive fresh, nutritious meals prepared with high standards. The candidate will be responsible for culinary purchasing, managing inventory, analyzing food costs, and forecasting production needs. Working knowledge of automated inventory and food management systems is essential, as is the ability to motivate team members and uphold Sodexo’s culinary standards.

Job Requirements

  • minimum education requirement - associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum management experience - 2 years
  • minimum functional experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Job Duties

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • ensure Sodexo culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
