Dillard University, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to oversee resident dining and catering services on campus. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a creative and hands-on culinarian to lead a high-end service operation tailored to the needs of a dynamic university community. The Executive Chef will be responsible for managing daily food production, including production planning and controls, ensuring adherence to Sodexo Culinary Standards with strict recipe compliance and premium food quality. A key aspect of the role is developing menus and managing inventory while maintaining a high standard of customer service and food excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food innovation, a solid understanding of specialized diets and allergens, and familiarity with Sodexo’s Food Management System (Drive).
This role also involves training and developing frontline employees, sustaining a motivated and skilled team committed to delivering outstanding culinary experiences. Candidates should have proven leadership abilities, prior supervisory experience in university or campus services, and a history managing diverse and upscale culinary operations. Union experience is considered a plus. Proficiency with computer skills to support operational and administrative tasks is preferred.

Job Requirements

- two years of management experience
- two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
- demonstrated ability to lead a team in day to day food operations to ensure quality production and exceptional delivery of service
- strong culinary background with the ability to stay current with new culinary trends
- excellent leadership skills and ability to interact with customers, clients and all levels of management
- previous experience working in a high-volume facility
- strong financial acumen to ensure cost effective operations
