Job Description

As part of its continued support for the United States Air Force, Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to lead and manage culinary operations at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality dining experiences to airmen, their families, and civilian staff on the base. The Executive Chef 2 will oversee and direct a team made up of both subcontractor cooks and Airmen, ensuring the provision of fresh, creative, and nutritionally balanced menu options tailored to meet the demanding and diverse needs of the military community.

The Executive Chef 2 will operate as the lead manager within the Air Force dining facility, taking responsibility for all kitchen operations. This includes overseeing food production, ensuring compliance with Sodexo's culinary standards, and maintaining stringent quality and safety protocols. The role emphasizes the importance of menu planning, cost control, and customer service excellence, with a strong focus on staff training and development, particularly in mentoring Airmen. The Executive Chef 2 is tasked with ensuring that all culinary practices meet both the expectations of military customers and the rigorous standards set by Sodexo, thereby supporting morale and mission readiness through exemplary food service.

Job Requirements

  • associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2 years management experience
  • minimum of 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
  • ServSafe certification
