Currently, Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead culinary operations at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, MI. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional, nutritious, and patient-centered meals within a healthcare setting. The Executive Chef will be responsible for upholding healthcare safety and sanitation standards, ensuring every dish served meets high-quality standards and patient satisfaction goals. Their leadership will guide culinary teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. In addition to managing day-to-day kitchen operations, the Executive Chef will drive menu innovation, tailoring culinary offerings to meet the specific needs of the hospital’s patients and clients.

As the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will standardize culinary systems and procedures across hospital food services, ensuring consistency and compliance with industry best practices. This role requires collaboration with clinical and operations teams to create a seamless dining experience that supports patient wellness and recovery. The Executive Chef will also lead procurement and purchasing processes to source quality ingredients while managing costs effectively. Enhancing retail and catering services with fresh, creative ideas is a critical part of this role, ensuring that all facets of the food program exceed expectations.

Job Qualifications

  • strong culinary background with ability to produce and present high quality food
  • menu planning experience and knowledge of current culinary trends
  • strong management skills
  • proficient computer skills
  • highly organized and detail-focused
  • proven ability to set up processes, create efficiencies, and solve problems with little to no direction
  • ServSafe certified with working knowledge of HACCP
  • Certified Executive Chef (C.E.C.) a plus
