The Executive Chef 2 role at Dyess Air Force Base is a vital leadership position within Sodexo's Government Services division. This role entails overseeing the culinary operations of an Air Force dining facility and flight line kiosk serving approximately 5,500 meals weekly across four meals per day. The Executive Chef 2 will manage a team consisting of both subcontractor cooks and Airmen, ensuring that food preparation follows Sodexo's high culinary standards and that customer satisfaction remains paramount. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position demands expertise in production planning, recipe compliance, food quality assurance, and cost control. In addition to operational management, the Executive Chef 2 will foster the development and training of Airmen, helping them build culinary skills and advance their professional growth. Job Requirements
- associate's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 2 years of management experience
- minimum 2 years of work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Job Qualifications
- culinary degree or certification
- strong culinary background with demonstrated ability to lead a culinary staff
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- previous experience working in a high volume facility
- strong management and relationship building skills
- focus on food safety, sanitation and physical safety
- ServSafe certification
Job Duties
- manage the daily food production including production planning and controls
- ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
- manage food costing, controls and compliance
- have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
- have the ability and willingness to develop and train Airmen
