Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef for the campuses of Maricopa Community Colleges, located in Maricopa County, Arizona. This vital role encompasses oversight and leadership of culinary operations across multiple campus locations, including retail foodservice and catering services. The Executive Chef will have direct supervision of 10 team members and will be responsible for sustaining Sodexo's culinary standards, ensuring recipe compliance, food quality, and adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations. This role is highly hands-on, requiring active involvement in all aspects of culinary preparation and team management.

Additionally, the Executive Chef will be accountable for managing food costs, menu costing, purchasing, and inventory control, requiring strong analytical skills and proficiency with automated food management systems. The position involves food production forecasting and menu compliance checks to ensure operational efficiency and client satisfaction. The Executive Chef plays a pivotal role in motivating and developing culinary team members, fostering an environment of culinary innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • valid driver's license
  • associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2 years management experience
  • minimum of 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
  • ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced culinary environment
  • strong organizational and analytical skills
  • excellent communication and leadership abilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • ensure Sodexo culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
