Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 2 years management experience
  • minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services
  • knowledge of professional cooking methods and food safety
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • flexibility to adapt to changing culinary trends

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2 years management experience
  • minimum of 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, or institutional services
  • demonstrated culinary expertise and innovation
  • strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • good knowledge of multiple cuisines
  • ability to develop new recipes and food programs

Job Duties

  • Ensure all food always looks and tastes great and is visually appetizing when served
  • demonstrate strong all-round culinary ability and craft skills in all areas of professional cookery including main courses, salads, sauce work, pastry, and baking
  • have a strong knowledge of food and cook using multiple styles of cuisine
  • recognize and react to contemporary culinary trends
  • use correct food terminology and cooking methods
  • constantly look for new recipes, ideas, and initiatives to improve food quality and service
  • play a key role in mentoring culinary personnel
  • manage a commissary or satellite kitchen effectively
