Job Description

The Westin Crystal City is a distinguished hotel located in the vibrant neighborhood of Crystal City, known for its exceptional hospitality and commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences. As part of a renowned global hotel chain, The Westin Crystal City is currently undergoing a remarkable transformation slated for completion in April 2026. This renovation will breathe new life into the hotel’s spaces and usher in an exciting evolution with the debut of Stillwater & Stone, the hotel's reimagined restaurant and lobby bar, launching in May 2026. The Westin brand is synonymous with luxury, comfort, and innovation, and this renovation exemplifies those pillars. The establishment prides itself on blending elegant design with modern amenities, aiming to provide guests with a warm yet sophisticated atmosphere that caters both to travelers and the local community. Hospitality excellence and culinary innovation are cornerstones of its reputation, making The Westin Crystal City an iconic destination for discerning guests.

The Executive Chef role at The Westin Crystal City is a defining leadership position during this period of transformation. This visionary role is designed for a culinary leader who thrives at the crossroads of creativity, operational excellence, and elevating guest experiences through food and beverage offerings. The Executive Chef will play a critical part in shaping the culinary direction of the property by crafting distinctive menus that marry indulgence with wellness, elevating the overall dining experience to a new standard. This role expects the successful candidate to lead by example — mentoring and inspiring a high-performing culinary team, managing operational workflows efficiently, and ensuring brand standards are consistently met.

The Executive Chef will be entrusted with driving culinary innovation and overseeing the continuous development of dining concepts, menus, and service models to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability. The position requires a strategic mindset capable of balancing creativity with the pragmatic aspects of kitchen management, such as food cost control, labor optimization, and sustainability initiatives including sourcing ethically and minimizing waste. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead during an exciting phase where new venues like Stillwater & Stone will be introduced, requiring an alignment of brand identity with culinary offerings that appeal to diverse audiences including hotel guests and local patrons.

Positioned at the forefront of this culinary renaissance, the Executive Chef will play an integral role in transforming the dining experience into a destination in itself, attracting gourmet enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This role not only promises influence over a major hospitality brand's culinary portfolio but also demands a robust leadership presence, operational knowledge, and a commitment to fostering innovation and excellence. Candidates will find a dynamic environment that encourages experimentation with global influences and seasonal ingredients, positioning the hotel as a culinary leader in the Crystal City area. The Executive Chef will have the rare opportunity to help define a culinary culture that is forward-thinking, sustainable, and aligned with the luxury ethos of The Westin Crystal City and Stillwater & Stone.
