The Executive Chef role at Crescent Hotels & Resorts is a pivotal position within the culinary department, demanding both visionary leadership and operational excellence. This full-time position is tailored for a dynamic culinary professional ready to lead a fast-paced, multi-faceted operation with a strong pulse on contemporary food trends and guest preferences. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the culinary function, from menu concepting and design to the quality preparation and presentation of all menu offerings. The role requires a leader who can inspire and mentor culinary associates through effective hiring, training, and ongoing evaluation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and open communication. The Executive Chef is also responsible for prioritizing daily kitchen operations, managing production schedules, and ensuring that each kitchen station is stocked and equipped to meet business demands efficiently. This hands-on leader will conduct regular kitchen walk-throughs to monitor quality and attention to detail, providing coaching and corrections where necessary. Innovation in menu development, particularly in collaboration with the Catering department, is also essential, as is meeting with clients to tailor special menu offerings for various functions. Continuous staff training and reevaluation of positions within the kitchen support the department’s adaptability and growth. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of progressive culinary leadership experience in high-volume kitchen settings, along with an innovative mindset to align food trends with the guest experience. Job Qualifications

  • Progressive culinary experience in a fast-paced multi-faceted operation
  • Minimum of 3 years leading culinary operations as an Executive Chef
  • Previous leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • Demonstrated ability to develop menu items for diverse audiences
  • Curiosity regarding food trends and ability to assess their value in driving guest experience

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the culinary department including menu concepting and design ensuring quality preparation and proper handling of all food items
  • Interview hire train and evaluate culinary associates fostering open communication and continuous improvement
  • Establish daily priorities assign production and preparation tasks ensuring kitchen is stocked with necessary tools supplies and equipment
  • Review banquet event orders requisition supplies ensure quality of products and monitor associate performance
  • Conduct frequent walk-throughs coaching associates to correct deficiencies ensuring quality and attention to detail
  • Assist Catering department in developing special menus and meet with clients as requested
  • Oversee training of new hires and maintain ongoing training program reevaluating positions and making necessary changes
