Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience as an executive chef or similar role in a steakhouse or fine dining restaurant
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
  • ability to manage budgets and control food and labor costs
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • culinary degree or certification preferred
  • experience with menu development and recipe standardization
  • proficiency in inventory management and cost analysis
  • ability to train and mentor culinary staff
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques
  • experience in high-volume kitchen operations

Job Duties

  • adhere to standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation to ensure high quality and minimize food costs
  • exercise portion control for all items served
  • prepare necessary data for budget preparation and project annual food, labor, and other costs
  • monitor actual financial results and take corrective action to meet financial goals
  • schedule and coordinate work of sous chefs and kitchen staff to ensure economical and technically correct food preparation within budgeted labor cost goals
