We are currently seeking a purpose-driven Executive Chef to join our Independent Senior Living community, a position that offers a unique opportunity to lead culinary and dining services within a luxury resort-style environment. This full-time, hands-on role goes beyond traditional kitchen leadership by merging culinary artistry with genuine resident engagement. The Executive Chef will oversee the Signature Freedom Dining program, renowned for its fresh, scratch-made meals paired with flexible dining options and exceptional presentation. Through leadership by example, the chef will immerse themselves in every facet of meal preparation and service, from planning menus to frontline execution, ensuring a worry-free dining experience that enhances residents’ daily lives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for service excellence. Beyond culinary proficiency, this role requires emotional intelligence and a resident-focused mindset, as building meaningful relationships and responding thoughtfully to resident feedback are integral aspects of success. Collaboration with the dining room team, management of kitchen operations, inventory control, and vendor relationships all fall under the Executive Chef’s responsibilities, demanding organizational and communication skills alongside culinary creativity.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Proven leadership experience in culinary preparation cooking and supervising a team
  • Flexibility for Sunday-Thursday primary schedule plus evening weekend and holiday support
  • High school diploma or GED required culinary degree or related higher education preferred
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills in English a polished appearance and a positive service-minded attitude
  • Ability to handle resident feedback and concerns responding politely calmly and professionally
  • ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Any required local food handler permits obtained within two weeks of hire

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily culinary operations ensuring high-quality scratch-made meals with excellent presentation and proper temperatures
  • Lead by example in the kitchen while working hands-on maintaining a clean organized environment and upholding all food safety handling sanitation and hygiene standards
  • Train coach and develop the Culinary and Dining teams while partnering with the Dining Room Supervisor to deliver smooth timely meal service
  • Manage ordering receiving inventory vendor relationships and daily invoice entry using company tools and standards
  • Build strong relationships with residents by gathering feedback hosting monthly Chef chats and adapting menus to their preferences
  • Create and maintain weekly labor schedules and ensure team compliance with all uniform and safety requirements
