The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and formal training in both culinary and bakery operations, with a particular interest and expertise in plant-based cuisine, vegan, vegetarian, and fast casual menu development.
The Executive Chef will have a critical leadership role in the kitchen, overseeing the hiring and scheduling of bakery, kitchen, and line staff members. This role requires strong inventory control, food purchasing, and stock management skills, ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. Creativity in developing specials and training line prep and line cooks is essential, and the Executive Chef will also occasionally assist in bakery and pastry tasks seasonally. Maintaining high standards of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation is a top priority, with responsibility for a regularly cleaned kitchen environment and proper food disposal practices.
This position demands exceptional management skills, including controlling food costs and waste, managing employee hours, and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.
