Currently, Quail Park of Lynnwood is seeking an Executive Chef to join their Signature Dining Team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,168.40 to $87,000 annually. The Executive Chef role is instrumental in managing and enhancing the culinary experience for the community's residents, ensuring meals are not only nutritious but also appealing and presented in a clean and attractive manner. The Executive Chef supports the Director of Signature Dining by assisting with scheduling, inventory management, and budget adherence, while also maintaining regulatory compliance with OSHA and local health standards. This role includes training and directing kitchen staff, stepping in for dining leadership when necessary, and contributing to both meal preparation and service standards. The position demands strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a deep commitment to customer service, specifically tailored to the senior living environment. It is a physically engaging role requiring the capacity to stand for extended periods and sometimes lift heavy items. Candidates must have at least three years of food service experience with supervisory responsibilities, preferably within hotel, restaurant, or senior living settings. Culinary arts certification and proficiency in menu development that caters to seniors' nutritional needs are highly valued. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years food service experience with supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience in hotel, restaurant, or senior living setting preferred
  • Certified culinary arts training preferred
  • Ability to develop senior-friendly menus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficiency in English communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Meet all health and food handling regulations
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid and Food Handler’s certifications

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years food service experience with progressively increasing responsibility and at least 1-year supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in hotel, restaurant, or senior living setting preferred
  • Completion of certified culinary arts training preferred
  • Ability to create and implement menus with variety, interest, and appeal while meeting senior nutritional needs
  • Understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Strong commitment to customer service and ability to exceed expectations
  • Proficiency in English for communication with residents, guests, staff, and vendors
  • Basic computer skills proficiency
  • Compliance with local and state health-related and food-handling requirements
  • Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handler’s credentials

Job Duties

  • Support Director of Signature Dining in creating and monitoring kitchen team member schedules and daily assignments to ensure efficient meal preparation, service, and clean-up
  • Support Director of Signature Dining with maintaining department within budgetary guidelines
  • Support Director of Signature Dining in ordering, monitoring, and maintaining adequate inventory of food, kitchen, and dining supplies and equipment
  • Maintain knowledge base of current OSHA, local and state regulatory agency guidelines and ensure kitchen and food service program maintain regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for training and directing all kitchen team members during shift
  • Fill in for Director of Signature Dining or Dining Room Manager when necessary
  • Assist Dining Room Manager with direction of serving staff as needed
  • Assist with cleaning duties as required
  • Perform physical duties including standing for 2-3 hours and lifting 25-50lbs
