Job Requirements
- General education high school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary degree preferred
- Experience in managing kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to develop and modify menus
- Experience with budgeting and cost control
- Ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Familiarity with marketing food and beverage services

Job Qualifications
- General education high school diploma or equivalent required
- General education associate degree recommended
- Culinary degree preferred
- Understanding of restaurant, room service, bar/lounge and banquet procedures
- Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards
- Effective decision-making skills
- Strong customer and associate relation skills
- Knowledge of overall hotel operations related to kitchen
- Ability to manage labor productivity
- Good presentation and platform skills
- Good communication skills including verbal, listening, and writing
- Strong organization skills
- Effective conflict management skills
- Effective change management skills
- Good training and facilitator skills
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment
- Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards such as OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA
- Experience with financial management including ability to understand P&L statements, manage budgets, forecasting, and scheduling
Job Duties
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
- Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
- Ensure all kitchen supplies are ordered, stocked, and properly stored
- Hire and fire kitchen staff
- Assign duties to staff such as food preparation or line positions
- Arrange equipment purchases and repairs
- Maintain a strong presence with guests and communicate service expectations
- Develop innovative marketing strategies to drive food and beverage revenue
- Respond to guest requests for menu selections and event planning
- Collaborate with hotel departments to enhance guest Food and Beverage experience
- Research new products and analyze cost and profit benefits
- Review new food preparation techniques to maximize satisfaction and minimize costs
- Provide leadership and strategy to inspire associates and drive financial success
