Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Hires, schedules, orients, trains and develops workers including job duties, food production, sanitation, safety, guest satisfaction and company policies
  • Cooks and carves meats and prepares dishes during rush periods and social functions
  • Plans or participates in menu planning, food preparation, portioning, and utilization of surpluses
  • Specifies servings to control portion costs
  • Supervises kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation
  • Tastes and inspects food to ensure quality and guest satisfaction
  • Supervises inventory, storage, and distribution of food and supplies
  • Inventories and purchases foodstuffs and kitchen supplies
  • Assists in budget development for the kitchen
  • Assists in setting prices for food items
  • Coordinates with sales staff and clients to resolve menu issues and plan special menus
