Job Requirements

  • Associate of science degree or equivalent experience
  • three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation
  • computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and email
  • ability to plan menus and manage inventory
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • capability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate of science degree or equivalent experience
  • three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet usage
  • extensive catering experience (a plus)
  • experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations (highly desirable)
  • ServSafe certification (highly desirable)

Job Duties

  • Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment
  • enforce food safety and sanitation standards based on company and regulatory requirements
  • establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and work areas
  • manage inventory of food and non-food supplies to assure availability and control costs
  • comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
