The company is currently looking to hire an Executive Chef, a key leadership role responsible for managing kitchen operations within hospital and healthcare food service environments. The Executive Chef will be entrusted with ensuring the preparation and delivery of meals that comply with Morrison’s corporate programs and healthful eating guidelines, all while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, food services technology/management, or related field
- or associate’s degree or culinary certificate with relevant experience
- minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
- experience in catering and high volume complex foodservice operations preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- hands-on experience as a chef
- computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite
- willingness to engage in patient satisfaction activities
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management or related field
- or A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate with required experience
- minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
- extensive catering experience a plus
- high volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
- institutional and batch cooking experience
- hands-on chef experience
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends
- must be experienced with computers including Microsoft Office, Outlook, E-mail and Internet
- must be willing to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified highly desirable
Job Duties
- Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
- follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards
- completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- tastes completed meals to ensure quality
- trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation
- establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
- maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies within established guidelines
- makes all decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products
- complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations
- follows facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures
- participates and attends departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
